Tomorrow morning is forecast to be very cold. For those hardy enough to show up at 9:00 am, here’s a ride for you. I will probably not be in attendance.
The ride for Tuesday, February, 4, will be the O’Donovan Road version of the Creston Loop, then back to Starbuck’s, for refreshments. Here are the particulars:
Meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial of the Atascadero Lake Park. Ride out Amapoa, right on Curbaril, through the intersection with El Camino Real, then left on Santa Ysabel and right on Highway 41. From there we will go left on Templeton and right on South El Pomar, up the Chicago Grade. We will follow South El Pomar to the Pomar Junction, turn right on El Pomar, then left on Cripple Creek and right on Creston Road. We will bypass Camp 8 and continue all the way to Highway 41, where we will turn rightbefore taking a quick left onto Highway 229 into Creston for a brief regrouping stop. From there we will ride east on O’Donovan, turn right on Highway 58 and take it all the way to El Camino Real in Santa Margarita. Turn right and head north on El Camino Real to Sandoval Road. We will turn right on Sandoval, then left on Santa Clara, right on Los Palos into Santa Barbara, then right on Viejo Camino and right again on ECR, and onto Starbuck’s, for coffee.
