Team K-Man Ride, Sat, November 16 @ 8:30am

The Team KMaBikRide for Saturday, November 16, will incorporate the Trifecta Time Trial in Santa Margarita, and then continue from there to cover the Pozo Loop, counterclockwise.

We will gather at KMan Cycle and Run in Atascadero at 8:30 a.m., and depart at 8:38. That should bring us to the time trial starting point in Santa Margarita around 9:00, when the time trial is scheduled to begin. After the time trial concludes at the intersection of Pozo and Santa Margarita Lake Roads, we will head east toward Pozo, where there will be a stop at the ranger station for water and self-supplied refreshments.

As many of the riders might feel spent after the time trial, the prescribed route is the bare bones version of the Pozo Loop, which returns to Atascadero directly via Parkhill Road and Highway 58 and traverses about 55.8 miles with about 3,070 feet of climbing. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/29016650.

Those who still feel up to a longer route can head down Huer Huero Road from Parkhill and proceed to Creston by way of O’Donovan Road, before returning to Atascadero via Highways 229 and 58. That course is 68.5 miles, with 3,543 feet of elevation gain. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/29016604.  Another long option involves riding to Creston and returning to Atascadero via Creston Road, Cripple Creek and South El Pomar Roads. That option entails 67.2 miles in distance and 3,496 feet of elevation gain. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/28856564
