TTT Ride Thursday, April 25 @ 8:30am

The ride for Thursday, April 25, will take us to the Hwy 46 summit, with a York Mountain option, followed by coffee at Joebella’s.

Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial of the Atascadero Lake Park. Ride out Amapoa, turn right at Curbaril, proceed through the intersection at El Camino Real and turn left on Santa Ysabel. Turn right on 41, left on Templeton, then stay on Templeton Road all the way, turning left with it at the intersection with El Pomar. At Main Street in Templeton, turn right, then left on 3rd Street, right on Old County, and left on Las Tablas. We will go under the Freeway and turn right on Duncan, left on Peterson Ranch Road and a quick right turn onto Frontier, which we will follow all the way around to the left (where it becomes Herdsmen Way) and out to Bethel, where we will turn right toward Highway 46. We will turn left on Highway 46 and then turn right on Oakdale, which we will stay on until we come out at Vineyard, where we turn left, followed by a right on Hwy 46.

When we reach the intersection of 46 and York Mountain Road, those seeking to test themselves on a steeper grade can divert off and up York Mountain Road, returning to 46 after the back road climb. Those preferring a steadier, more moderate grade can just stay on 46. In any event, we will all continue west over the Highway 46 summit (where the sign says that the altitude is 1762 feet) to the lookout point on the south side of the road a few hundred meters past the summit. We will regroup there, take in the panoramic view, then head back toward Templeton by going east on 46. We will turn right onto Vineyard, and make our way to Joebella’s via Hwy 101, San Ramon, and ECR.
