The ride for Tuesday, July 17, will be the Creston Loop, clockwise, returning to Cricket’s for refreshments. Here are the particulars:
Meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial of the Atascadero Lake Park. Ride out Amapoa, right on Curbaril, through the intersection with El Camino Real, and continue on Curbaril as it turns into Sycamore. Make a left on Capistrano, left on Mercedes and a left on Highway 41. From there we will go left on Templeton Road and right on Lupine. Turn right on El Pomar, then left on Cripple Creek and right on Creston Road. We will turn left on Camp 8, then right at the development onto Rancho La Loma Linda Drive. At Highway 41 we will turn right before taking a quick left onto Highway 229 for a brief regrouping stop at the store in Creston. From there we will continue south on 229 up and then down the hill until we come to the end of 229, where we will turn right onto Highway 58 and follow it all the way to El Camino Real in Santa Margarita, where we turn right. We will head north to Sandoval Road. We will turn right on Sandoval, then left on Santa Clara, right on Los Palos into Santa Barbara. Then it’s right on Viejo Camino and onto Cricket’s for refreshments.
After coffee, those wishing to continue to a total of 57 miles (Sue’s age) can join Sue on Halcon, Rocky Cyn and possibly a loop around Templeton Road and Homestead. Then it’s onto Streetside for lunch and a beer.
