Team K-Man Ride, Sat, June 16 @ 8:00am

TIME: 8:00am

How about a route we haven’t done for almost a year!  Let’s climb Las Pilitias in the fresh air of the early morning, head down Huer Huero and then enjoy the rolling hills of 58 and the fast downhill on La Panza into Creston for refueling at mile 45.  Please be sure to bring enough food and drink for that first leg.

We will gather at the Kman shop at 8:00 and roll at 8:08, heading south on El Camino to the left on Viejo Camino to left on Santa Barbara to Los Palos to left on Santa Clara then right on Sandoval and back to left on El Camino.  We will continue to left on 58, regrouping at the Park, and head straight on Pozo road to the base of Las Pilitas.  After a regrouping we will head up the climb, regrouping at the top and then heading left on Parkhill to right on Huer Huero to 58 where we will regroup.  Then head right on 58 to La Panza for another regroup before we head left on La Panza to left on 41 to left on 229 to the Creston Store for refreshments.  The preferred route home will be up 229 to 58 and back to Santa Margarita and El Camino.  Riders will have 64 miles and 3869’ of climbing in their legs upon the return to the K-Man shop.

The route can be shortened in a number of ways: 1) By heading down Parkhill after the climb up Las Pilitas (38 miles), 2) By heading left on 58 back to Santa Margarita after the downhill on HH (40 miles), 3) By heading to Creston on O’ Donovan instead of riding to La Panza (52 miless) or 4) By heading back to Atascadero after Creston by way of 41 (57 miles).  Something for everyone!
