Let’s head north to Nacimiento Lake Rd and ride Chimney Rock Rd to Cypress Mt/Klau Mine Rds and back home by way of Vineyard or Adelaida!
We will gather at K-Man Atascadero at 8:00am and roll left on El Camino at 8:08 to right on Curbaril to left on Santa Ysabel to right on Hwy 41 to left on Templeton Rd to right on Lupine to right on El Pomar to left on Hollyhock to left on Neil Springs to right on River Rd (re-group). We will continue on River to a left on Niblick to a right on Vine Street. We will take Vine all the way to the left on 24th/Nacimiento Lake Rd (re-group). We will continue on Nacimiento Lake Rd all the way to Chimney Rock (re-group) where we will then enjoy the rolling hills as we make our way to the left on Cypress Mt. Dr (re-group). We will then ride Cypress around to Klau Mine and the right on Adelaida up and over to a water/snack break at Tablas Creek Winery at mile 38.6 (re-group).
59 mile ride with 3800’ of climbing: Riders wishing to head back to Atascadero after the water/snack stop at Tablas Creek will then head right on Vineyard and for a shady ride home it is suggested to go left on Peachy to right on Willow to left on Vineyard to left on Oakdale to right on 46 to left on Booker to left on Las Tablas to right on Bethel to left on Vineyard to right on Templeton Road all the way to Hwy 41 where you will have 59 miles in your legs with 3800’ of climbing. 62 mile ride with 4200’ of climbing: Riders wishing for a bit more climbing and a food stop in Paso after the water/snack stop at Tablas Creek will continue on Adelaida up and over the top (re-group) and down to a right on Nacimiento Lake Rd to right on Vine (re-group) to left on 12th street for a choice of refreshments. After re-fueling the preferred route home is by way of 13th street to River Walk to River Rd, retracing the route back to Hwy 41 where you will have 62 miles in your legs with 4200’ of climbing. Please be aware that there has been some recent re-surfacing on Peachy Canyon late this week which may or may not still be tacky this weekend.
